8 Benefits of Vitamin C IV for Cancer Patients

Updated: Jul 7, 2022

High-Dose Vitamin C IV Drips

High-dose Vitamin C IV drips are powerful for boosting immunity in general and are a great addition to an integrated cancer care plan. The benefits of IV drips for Vitamin C are far more powerful than the benefits you get from popping Vitamin C supplements orally. Many patients have found this therapy to be a very beneficial supplement to traditional cancer treatments, as part of an integrated therapy. And there are many studies backing up the claim, especially when it comes to specific types of cancer.

Benefits of High-Dose Vitamin C IV Drips for Cancer:

  1. Powerfully Boosts the immune system: Strong immunity is vital for fighting off cancer, and unfortunately, traditional therapies like chemo weaken the immune system.

  2. Acts as a Pro-Oxidant: Pro-oxidants are killers of pathogenic, disease-causing organisms, like cancer cells.

  3. Increases the efficacy of radio-, chemo- and other targeted therapies: Much research suggests Vitamin C has potent cancer-selective cytotoxic, cancer-therapy sensitizing and toxicity-reducing properties.

  4. Reduces the side effects of co-therapies: Chemo and radiation are known to come with many painful side-effects, and Vitamin C significantly reduces them.

  5. Slows the progression and spread of cancer: Decreases the proliferation of cancer cells

  6. Reduces the toxic effects of other therapies: Combats the toxic effects of chemo and radiation.

  7. Improved quality of life: Boosts energy, mood, and overall wellbeing

  8. Helps remove free radicals and regulates redox reactions that cause damage to DNA: This diminishes the effects of aging and certain health conditions that may complicate cancer

Specific Types of Cancerous Cells Most Affected by High-Dose Vitamin C IV

It’s important to note that high doses of vitamin C appear to affect a specific type of cancerous cells – those with low levels of catalase enzyme. These types of cancer cells have a diminished ability to remove hydrogen peroxide, causing damage that can lead to cell death. Cancer cells with higher levels of catalase enzymes are less affected by this treatment. DNA damage only occurs to cancerous cells. Healthy cells are able to function normally and are not harmed by the hydrogen peroxide produced by high doses of vitamin C.

Types of Cancer Shown to Be Most Positively Affected by High-Dose Vitamin C:

Animal studies have shown that high-dose vitamin C treatment blocks tumor growth in certain models of cancer, including:

  • Pancreatic cancer

  • Liver cancer

  • Prostate cancer

  • Andovarian cancers

  • Sarcoma

  • Malignant mesothelioma
